Product Introduction
1.Introduction
The MGG/KL-300A Portable Velocity & Flow Meter (referred to as Portable Velocimeter) is developed specifically for field open-channel velocity and flow measurement by hydrological stations, factories and mines, environmental monitoring stations, farmland irrigation and drainage departments, hydrogeological survey institutions and other organizations.
2.Technical Features
The MGG/KL-300A intelligent flow and velocity meter can be matched with the new-type propeller velocity sensor. This sensor was newly developed at the end of 2004 by adopting advanced technologies. The helix angle, pitch, manufacturing process and materials of the propeller have all been redesigned. The propeller diameters are Φ15 mm and Φ12 mm respectively. (The reflective surface of the propeller adopts advanced electroplating technology, featuring high wear resistance and strong signal output.) Its starting velocity ≤ 1 cm/s. Indicators including starting velocity, velocity measuring range, linearity, concentricity, calibration coefficient and mean square error have been greatly improved compared with previous sensors.
3.Key Technical Parameters
This instrument is designed based on the velocity-area method for open-channel flow measurement. The flow rate can be obtained once the flow velocity is measured: Q=V・S (S refers to cross-sectional area).
(1).Velocity Measurement
When measuring velocity, water power drives the propeller rotor of the velocimeter to rotate. The built-in signal unit generates revolution signals. Flow velocity is calculated by the formula:
V = KN/T + C (m/s)
Where:
V: Average flow velocity in measurement period (m/s)
K: Hydraulic pitch of propeller blade
C: Velocimeter constant
T: Measurement duration (Unit: s)
N: Number of signals within time T
K and C are constants for this instrument. Velocity can be calculated after measuring T and N during flow test.
(2).Flow Rate Calculation
Flow rate is calculated by the velocity-area method for open channel measurement. Flow rate equals measured velocity multiplied by cross-sectional area.
